I ran into Mervin last winter and he recognized me first. I hadn’t seen Mervin since high school days, really. He’d been making three trips to the city every week for some time already, now, for dialysis. He couldn’t walk. You could not have met a kinder, grounded, determined, spiritual person. His conversation with me gave me hope and I passed that on to someone else. I was blessed to have spent time in his company. My condolences to his family and particularly his faithful brother.
