In Loving Memory Of Zane Ochitwa

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Zane Dymetro Ochitwa announce his passing on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the age of 82.

Zane was born on January 14, 1943 in Canora, Saskatchewan to Metro and Edna (Kyba) Ochitwa and was the middle child of five.

Zane attended elementary school in Mazeppa, taught by his father. He completed high school in Kamsack while living with his sister, Sylvia and brother in law, Ted. Shortly after graduation, Zane started working for the Saskatchewan Department of Highways and Transportation. He had a long and successful career with the highways until his retirement in 2003.

Zane enjoyed curling in his younger years and was an avid reader and golfer. Golfing was his true passion, which he eventually passed down to his sons and grandsons. He was very proud of their accomplishments, whether it be in hockey, fastball, snowboarding, golf or music. Zane cherished his visits with family and friends and will be forever missed.

Zane is survived by his sons Kevin, Shawn (Bernadine) and Derek (Lisa); grandsons: Cale, Payton, Brock, Lucas and Joshua; brother Ben (Katie) Ochitwa as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Zane was predeceased by his parents, Metro and Edna, sisters Marie Wenarchuk, Donna Olshewski and Sylvia Gorham.

The family would like to acknowledge the caring and compassionate staff at Pleasantview Care Home in Wadena as well as the staff at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.
