Obituary of Noreen Sowa
Celebrating The Life Of Noreen Sowa
Noreen Francis Sowa was born in Wadena, SK on September 12, 1946 to Frank & Nora (Gray) Rioch. They lived in Invermay, SK until 1961 when they moved to Kuroki, SK, where Noreen continued her education. Noreen started her career in the Kuroki Co-op and was proud that she remembered everyone’s co-op number.
In 1966, Noreen married John Sowa. John & Noreen had three sons: Robert, Stuart and Warren. Noreen was a farm wife - making meals and entertaining. Baba Sowa lived next door, therefore Noreen learned Ukrainian and how to make perogies, nalysnyky, head cheese and fish balls.
Noreen enjoyed curling and watching curling, hunting & fishing, singing, watching the grandchildren grow with dance, playing hockey, and volleyball. Her campsite was legendary to all who knew her, and Noreen had every toy that was needed for the grandchildren.
Noreen is survived by her: sons - Rob & Anna, Mercedes, Kahla, Emily-J & great-grandchild Bentley; Stuart & Carmen, Halle, Dalen, & Brant; Warren & Michelle and Shayle; her sisters Lynette & Lylea; brother Jack (Eileen); sisters-in-law Bev & Laverne; along with numerous very special nieces & nephews.
Noreen is predeceased by her: husband John; father Frank; mother Nora; stepfather Lyle Enright; and brothers: Frank, Roger & Randy.
