Obituary of Ida Patenaude

In Loving Memory Of Ida Patenaude 

Ida Patenaude (nee Bernier) was born on September 3, 1928, at Perigord, Saskatchewan. She was raised there, did her schooling and lived in the district for most of her life.

Ida married Phillip in October of 1946 and started a family in 1948. They lived on a farm south of Perigord until they purchased a store from her parents. Ida became very busy looking after the kids and selling goods. After several years of business, they decided to retire from that and moved to Kelvington. Philip passed away in March of 1994. Ida lived a few years in her own home, then the Kelvington Villa until she couldn’t live alone, at which point she moved to the Kelvington Lodge until her passing.

Ida was fortunate to have her family around her until her last day.

Ida lived a long life! Raising six children without any major traumas and saw all of them become old age pensioners. Ida enjoyed seeing her 13 grandchildren grow, graduate, and marry as well as 24 great-grandchildren whom she enjoyed their many accomplishments along with 1 marriage.

The tears we shed today are not for her, they are for us because we lost our anchor, mother, grandmother, and friend. Although we already feel a void in our lives we have many beautiful memories to cherish for years to come.

Ida is predeceased by Philip and left to cherish her complete family and a sister-in-law, Lorette Patenaude along with several nieces and nephews.
