In Loving Memory Of Shirley (Sonia) Lipka

Shirley (Sonia) Lipka was born on September 23rd, 1946, to John & Victoria Wilchynski. Up for the day on July 24th, 2025, Sonia passed away peacefully later on that day.

Sonia took her schooling in Quill Lake, and finished in Wadena. She worked as a care aide for many years in Weneedaand Pleasant View Care Homes.

Sonia met the love of her life, James Lipka and married him on August 6th, 1966. To this union three children were born: Denise, Carey and Kelly.

Jim and Sonia farmed all their 44 years of marriage. Sonia enjoyed gardening, cooking, farming, and many holidays together. Family was very important to her.

Sonia loved her children and all of her grandchildren. She loved when family and friends would come to Pleasant View to visit her. Her smile and little wave would brighten anyone’s day.

Sonia was predeceased by her husband James; her father & mother: John and Victoria; brothers: Brian, Barry & Jim; sister Laverne; brothers-in-law: Nick Olynick & George Haskey.

Sonia is survived by her children: Denise (Brian) Williams, Carey (Trevor) Althouse, and Kelly (Tracey) Lipka; grandchildren & great grandchildren: Brittany (Earl) -  Elliott, Thomas, Elena & Stephanie (Brady); Bailey (Bradyn) -Brexlee, Atlee, Wrenlee; Quinn & Karlie; Jared;  Kendra (Aiden) Everlee; Ashlynn; sister Doris Haskey; sisters-in-law Anne Wilchynski & Marron Wilchynski; and numerous nieces & nephews.
