Obituary of Kathy Rutko

In Loving Memory Of Katherine (Kathy) Rutko

Kathy Marie Rutko was born on February 24, 1960 at Wynyard Union Hospital to parents Walter and Mary Rutko.

Kathy enjoyed gardening with her parents,Walter and Mary. She enjoyed cooking, and baking cookies were her favourite. Kathy enjoyed writing down recipes and putting them in her “recipe binder” for future use. She always said that “traditional recipes” were the best. During harvest time, she would bring out lunches to help her folks. Scotty (black lab dog) and Trixie (collie dog) followed Kathy around and they became inseperable.

Later as Kathy’s health issues came up, the family decided to move into the town of Wynyard. Shortly after Mary passed away, Kathy was admitted to Golden Acres due to her declining health. She made her home at Golden Acres where she received quality care.

Kathy passed away peacefully on Saturday evening on August 30, 2025.

Kathy is predeceased by her: parents Mary and Walter Rutko.

Kathy will be deeply missed by her: brother Bernard (MaryAnn Zelinski), niece Melissa (Tyler) Firth; nephews - Robert (Dezsarae Stephanson) Rutko, Michael Rutko and James Rutko; great nieces and nephews - Thomas, Matthew, Jayda, Aliyah, Sophia, and Grayson.

Rest in peace little sister.
