Obituary of John Budz
In Loving Memory Of John Budz
John S. Budz was born on July 9, 1939, in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan, the tenth child of John and Anne Budz. He spent his life farming near Rose Valley and working for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool construction. In 1962, John met the love of his life, Darlene, and on June 22, 1963, they were married. Together they built a home filled with love, hard work, and laughter, raising six children in just seven years. One of John’s greatest joys was celebrating 62 years of marriage with Darlene.
John had a deep connection to the land and a love for gardening, animals, and the simple pleasures of rural life. He was known for watching Hockey Night in Canada - sometimes with his eyes close - and for passionately cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Blue Jays. Soft-spoken and kind, John loved to visit with others, share stories, and was renowned for his memory of sports stats and birthdays. He will be remembered as one of the kindest people you could ever meet, unless the cows tried his patience or his team missed a big play.
John was predeceased by his: siblings - Mary (Steve) Saban, Fred (Louise) Budz, Pete (Vivian) Budz, Nick Budz, Pauline (Walter) Kowalyk, Kay (Mel) Matheson, Mike (Evelyn) Budz, Victor (Marion) Budz, Billy Budz; son-in-law John Nagy; and brothers-in-law Gary Ward and Eddie (Margaret) Ward.
