Obituary of Marivic Keough

In Loving Memory Of Marivic Urmatam - Keough

Marivic Urmatam-Keough was born on August 21, 1969 in Camalaniugan, Cagayan, Philippines. She was the 7th child among the brood of nine. She moved here in Canada in 2008 where she spent her first 4 years in Alberta where she met her deceased husband Richard “Rick” Keough before they finally settled here in Foam Lake.

While her first marriage whom she had Eric Ranzel and Louise Ann did not work out, hers with Rick was a beautiful one. Vicky, as everybody fondly called her, lived as a devoted wife to Rick and would always prefer spending quality time with him watching movies, go on fishing or simply sipping coffee right at the comfort of their home - over travelling as most couples do. It was short-lived though as Rick joined his Creator a year earlier.

For her children Eric Ranzel and Louise Ann, they did not lose a mom, but gained an angel instead. An angel who would continue to guide and love them because who they are are now, who they hope to be-they owe it to their angel mom. Vicky had a soft heart but strong as steel and very bold when things were not going her way because her motherhood guiding principle was: Mom knows best. Though Vicky left a big hole in their hearts, they will carry each day knowing that she’ll be watching over them.

Vicky was a jolly, kind and loving sister. Though she was far from her relatives, she never missed to send them messages on their birthdays even on ordinary days and to extend any help she could have.

Glam Ma Vicky was not an exception to a list of spoiler grandmother to her little descendants. And she had always a generous great hugs reserved for them .

Vicky was known by her friends as a young woman who had a beautiful soul, gentle heart and kind spirit. Others considered her a special friend because of the good values that she possessed. Her kindness was always evident in the smallest gestures. And her smile is contagious as well.

As a colleague, Vicky brought her co-workers more than just skill and dedication. She was very thorough in her work, gave the residents of Jubillee Home where she worked with tender loving care and considered them as her own family. She always walked an extra mile for them, both for the residents and for her co-workers, co-workers who turned to be her true friends. Her hardwork and compassion will continue to inspire them. Additionally, her performances being a dancer and a singer will be forever missed at Jubillee Home.

While we know that she is now at peace and that her struggles ended, there is pain and sadness. But even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love, kindness and perseverance. The way she touched our lives will remain.

Vicky leaves to mourn her passing her: children Eric Ranzel and Louise Ann; sisters Juliet, Elizabeth, Josephine, Maricar, Ann Bernadette; brother Raul; grandchildren Victor Arkin, Elio Deandre and Halley.

Vicky was predeceased by her: parents Victoriano in 2005, Eliza in 2016; elder sisters Gemma Theresa in 2018, Ma. Ulibia in 2022; and husband Richard Keough in 2024.
