Celebrating The Life Of Ray Malach

Raymond Timothy Stanley Malach was born on June 26, 1964 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ray was the 5th child of Joseph Edward Malach and Eva Barbara (Luster), and grew up on a farm near Candiac, Saskatchewan with his siblings: Randy, Ted, Karen and Judy. Ray completed his high school education at Montmartre School, graduating in 1982. Growing up, Ray could be found biking back and forth from the Kotylak farm where him and his best friend Danny spent tons of time getting into all sorts of trouble.

Ray moved to Rose Valley in 1990 where he began his lifelong career with Shamrock Ambulance. Ray enjoyed his job and cared deeply of his co-workers and all the patients he helped. Ray was known and loved by all. Often when people talk about Ray, one quality that stands out is his sense of humour. When on a call, if the hospital was short staffed, Ray often stayed to help out the nurses as they cared for the patients before he left the hospital. Due to a decline in health, Ray decided in 2020 it was time to take a step back and take care of his own health – putting an end to his 30 year career with Shamrock Ambulance.

Soon after he began working in Rose Valley, he met Darlene Hunt, they were married on October 19, 1991 at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Rose Valley.  They raised their children together and had many happy times.

Outside of work, Ray was blessed with 3 boys who kept him very busy. He welcomed twins (Anthony and Murray) into the world July of 1994 and then a 3rd boy (Drew) in June of 1997 completing his family. These boys meant everything to Ray and when he wasn’t on call you could find him at the hockey rink or the football field cheering on his boys. Ray was also a member of the Legion, the Kinsmen Club and was involved in the community in many other aspects. Ray had a love for old cars and small engine mechanics. He enjoyed reading, horror movies, and fishing. Ray also loved to collect stamps and keychains.

Ray moved to Wynyard in May 2025 to be closer to family. He was able to see his grandchildren often which always put a smile to his face. Ray passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 with his boys by his side. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all.

Ray is survived by his: children, Anthony (Rissa), Murray (Taya), Drew (Dana); siblings, Randy (Donna) Malach, Judy (John) Hrycak, Karen Malach, as well as his 10 beautiful grandchildren, Callie (13), Rylan (12), Logan (7), Emersyn (5), Nova (4), Meredith (3), Daxton (3), Brynlee (1), Skylar (1),  Owen (2 months); and the mother of his children Darlene Malach as well as his Ambulance Family and many community members.

Ray is pre-deceased by his: parents, Joseph & Eva Malach and brother Ted Malach.
