Obituary of Ben Andrusiak

In Loving Memory Of Bernard 'Ben' Andrusiak

Bernard (Ben) Andrusiak, at the age of 80 years old, passed away on December 21, 2025 at the Regina General Hospital, Regina SK,  after a very lengthy illness.

Ben was born on May 13, 1945 to parents, Kay and John Andrusiak, in Foam Lake, SK. Ben lived on the family farm in the West Bend District until he completed his Grade 8. He then left home to start working with a farmer in the West Bend area. From there, he moved to Yorkton where he ran a service station.

In 1962, Ben met the love of his life, Eva Koback, at a dance in the White Eagle Hall. Ben and Eva have been inseparable ever since. After years of dating, Ben and Eva married in 1966 and started their new life together in Foam Lake, SK. Ben and Eva were blessed with 3 children: Lori, Carla, and Lyle. Ben was an extremely hard worker and had a very innovative mind to which he could fix or build absolutely anything. He used those traits to become a mechanic after graduating at the Moose Jaw Technical School in 1968 and to build the family home (that they still live in today) with his own two hands. Ben loved to challenge himself and try new things. As the years went by, he worked at the Foam Lake Co-op, Foam Lake Tire Shop, Foam Lake Bakery, as well as managing the Foam Lake Husky. However, Ben's true passion was always farming to which he purchased his farm in 1977 and continued farming the rest of his life (even taking off his last harvest this past September). Ben always found peace being out in nature and working on the farm.

Ben always had a smile on his face, he was a social butterfly and had a unique way of bringing people together. He loved playing cards, going for drives in the countryside, baking, going for coffee and visiting with his friends, farming, listening to Ukrainian music and most of all, dancing with the love of his life, Eva. Ben will be deeply missed by all who knew him for his laughter, stories and kindness. Ben will live on in the Hearts of those who loved him as he was his family's anchor and the most incredible husband, father, grandpa, son, brother and friend.

Ben is predeceased by his: parents Kay and John Andrusiak;  grandson Jayce Andrusiak; sister Marilyn Koshman;  son-in-law Delmer Struss; grandparents,  numerous aunts and uncles and extended family.

Ben is survived by his: wife Eva Andrusiak; children- Lori (Andy) Frank, Carla Andrusiak-Struss (Michael Konya), and Lyle (Shantel) Andrusiak; grandchildren-Sheldon Frank, Amanda Frank, Aleah Andrusiak-Struss, Landen Andrusiak, Lexi Andrusiak, and Ashten Andrusiak; brothers Wilmer (Elaine) Andrusiak, and Merle Andrusiak as well as many extended family.
