Obituary of Walter Patrick Blazeiko

In Loving Memory Of Wally Blazeiko
 

Walter Patrick Blazeiko was born on July 27, 1946 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan to Anne and Nick Blazeiko. He was the second of four boys growing up on their family farm in West Bend.  On June 27, 1974, he married Gloria (Melnychuk), and together they raised two children, Trevor and Brianna. After spending a few years on the west coast, they chose to return to their home of Saskatchewan, building a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience in Foam Lake.

Wally had a love for hunting, fishing, his yard, playing cards, and visiting with friends. His family treasured the moments he would arrive home with fresh fish or foraged morels for mushroom sauce, or when he would devise clever solutions to fix or improve something around the house. Wally proudly loved his family and was always ready with a quick-witted joke or comment, happy to help or give whatever he could. Wally’s  grandchildren always knew exactly where to find the jellybeans and ice cream treats, and he was happiest sharing stories and laughter. All who truly knew Wally, valued the generous, joyful heart he couldn’t hide behind a gruff exterior.

Wally was predeceased by:  he and Gloria’s two infant children who passed at birth - Ryan and Amanda; his brother Nestor Blazeiko; and his parents, Nick and Anne Blazeiko. His life was forever changed when his beloved wife Gloria passed in 2014, leaving him with a broken heart. Wally will be overjoyed to be reunited with her.

Wally is lovingly remembered by: his daughter - Brianna (Mark Dutton, and their children Charlie and Sam); and his son Trevor (Kim, and their children Zoe, Jasper, and Anton);  he is also mourned by his: brothers - Ron Blazeiko and Brian Blazeiko as well as many other family members and friends.

The family extends their sincerest thanks to all who have expressed kindness and sympathy during this time. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Narfason's Funeral Chapel for their excellent service and the genuine connection and care they provide. We are truly grateful.
