Obituary of Helen Wunder

Celebrating The Life Of Helen Wunder

Helen (Feist) Wunder was born October 25th, 1929 in the Kindersley, SK area. She was the 12th of 16 children born to Karl Feist and Madeline Wiechert. Helen entered into eternal peace May 25, 2026 at Foam Lake, SK.

Helen attended Pinkham School and then Ryerson School near Hoosier, SK. As a child, she did plenty of work on the farm, tending to the animals, the garden and the home. After some health issues in Grade 5, Helen wasn't allowed to go back to school. She then started helping to care for her sister Agnes's children, which eventually led her to Sheho in 1945 to help care for her sister Barbara's children. Once she arrived in Sheho, she also found work at the Queen's Hotel, followed by a job at Toy’s Cafe. She moved to Regina to work for a year at Regina Quality Tea Room and then moved back to Sheho where she worked at Kopan's Cafe.

Helen married Clifford Wunder on February 28th, 1950 in Sheho, SK.  Once they were married, Helen and Cliff worked in the Red and White Store for 7 years.

Helen also spent her time milking cows while Cliff was raising turkeys and chickens, they sold cream, eggs, and chickens as well.

When Cliff went to work for Wells Construction, Helen and the kids followed along with him and travelled from site to site making memories and friends in every new location. Once they returned home to Sheho, they built and operated Wunder's Esso Service. For 18 years, Helen ran the food counter and helped run the service station. After that time, they bought a farm south of Sheho. Helen grew bountiful gardens year after year and had beautiful flowers throughout their well-loved yard. It was at this beautiful farm where they hosted many, many unforgettable joy-filled gatherings for family and friends over the years. Cliff and Helen resided on the farm until 2011 when they moved into Foam Lake where Helen continued to live until her passing.

Helen was a pivotal member of every community she lived in. She believed in the importance of community and she volunteered whenever called upon.  She helped to create many local organizations and countless opportunities for the people in the community. She loved to serve and became a valued leader in many of the organizations.  It was the Royal Canadian Legion that held her heart and became her first priority, where both Helen and Cliff served. In 1958, Helen helped create the Ladies Auxiliary and served as President for 17 years. Then in 2000, she joined the Legion where she became a lifetime member, never missing a Remembrance Day program in 75 years. Throughout her incredible life, Helen held immense pride for, poured her heart into and showed incredible work ethic in; the businesses she operated, the communities she served, the farm, their animals, her garden and flowers but most importantly her cherished family and abundance of friends.

Helen was predeceased by her: parents Karl and Madeline Feist; all fifteen of her siblings; her loving husband Clifford Wunder and her treasured son Lloyd Wunder.

Left to mourn Helen's passing and celebrate her life is her: daughter Faye (Bernie) Sebulsky and their children Colin (Sydney), Amy (Ryan) and Chad (Danielle); her son Ron (Trish) Wunder and his sons Brandon (Kerry) and Gatlin (Kyla) and her son David (Barb) Wunder and their children Samantha (Monty) and Cody (Lauren); her daughter in law Lynne Wunder and her son Shane (Chris); her very special great grandchildren Gracie, Kallie & Nickson Monych; Nohl & Tate Sebulsky; Elizabeth & Bennett Wunder; Henry & new baby Wunder; Elliott, Jasper and River Bleau; Layton, Emersyn, Hollyn & Jensyn Wunder; as well as her nieces and nephews.
