In Loving Memory Of Irene Redman

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Evelyn Redman (nee Yergens) have to announce her passing on May 29, 2026 at the age of 93, five days before her 94th birthday.

Irene was born in the Torquay District, SK on June 3, 1932 to William and Blanche Yergens. They moved to Margo, SK when Irene was around 2 years old. Irene attended Ross School in the Margo area which was 2 ½ miles east of the old Moe Country Church.

Irene married Melvin Redman in 1949, they lived and farmed north of Margo. Their first son Wayne was born in 1949 and their second son Randy was born in 1954.

Irene spent her life as a homemaker and mother to Wayne and Randy. Irene and Melvin farmed for several years before moving into Margo and then retiring.

During the years, Irene and Melvin enjoyed travelling to Hawaii and Reno. Irene also very much enjoyed travelling with her family to many different places. She was an excellent cook, she loved cooking and had many secret recipes for all the special things she use to make. Irene did not share many of her secrets as that is what made all her cooking so delicious and everyone coming back for more.

Irene also enjoyed sewing, gardening, planting flowers, crocheting, quilting, curling, playing cards, watching curling on TV and spending time with all her grandchildren anytime she could. In her recent years, she began watching the Toronto Blue Jays’ baseball games on TV. She especially loved when they would win. She passed away peacefully on Friday evening while watching the game.

For several years, Irene sold Amway, Watkins and Raleigh’s products. She was a dedicated user of the products and used them often.

Irene is survived by her: son Wayne Redman; grandson Collin (Denise) Redman; granddaughter Michelle (Dwayne) Jesse; great-grandchildren Hoyt (Alysia) Redman, Nicholas (Raelyn) Redman, Chantelle (Kyle) Beaton, Kaitlyn (Michael) Little, Shayla Jesse, Brianna Jesse; great great-grandchildren Zane, Kyson, Brody and Caleb Redman, William Beaton and Blake Little; brother Larry (Nadie) Yergens; sister Shirleen Neufeld; special friend Earl Parsons; nephews Dean and Kevin Yergens; nieces Cindy (Jean) Levasseur, Melinda Neufeld  and Debby Yergens; as well as many extended family and friends.

Irene is predeceased by her: husband Melvin Redman; son Randy Redman; parents William and Blanche Yergens; brother Ernest Yergens; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed & Elizabeth Redman; brothers-in-law Alex, Fred and Paul Redman; sisters-in-law Eileen Malisheski, Evelyn Kulcheski, Hazel Kuzik and Pauline McLelland.
