click here for service Betty Deloris Pozniak was born in Preeceville, Sk, on January 9, 1960. She moved to Moose Jaw as a young child and when she was a young lady moved to live in Melville. In 1978, Betty came to Mallard Industries where she was employed in the Light Industry Department for 41 years. Betty loved her job, as long as the job was her choice that day and she could do it at her own pace. She was meticulous about whatever she did. When the department was taking books and magazines apart for recycling everyone else would simply rip the papers and throw them into a mobile bin as they worked. Betty would place the processed pages neatly in a pile and the book backs and binding neatly in another pile. When she decided it was time, she placed the piles neatly in the rolling bin on top of all the other scattered papers. Everything was always neat and always at her own pace. Betty lived in a group home with six other resident who quickly became a family and fell into an easy routine of working and looking after each other. Betty and her family would go to all kinds of events and interesting places. Over the years she holidayed in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Banff, Toronto and the northern United States with her friends from Mallard. She had many adventures and enjoyed all her different experience but no matter where she went or how fancy the restaurant Betty wanted a hamburger and a coke and then her holiday was complete. She spent all of her holidays and family birthdays with Bonnie Wallin’s family. Coming first for Christmas in 1979. First Bonnie’s kids grew taller than Betty and then her grandchildren. Always an exciting day and a snapshot taken to commemorate when they finally got ‘bigger than Betty’. Because of Covid we could not visit Betty at her new home at Golden Acres in Wynyard, Sk and we never could get the picture of Betty and the great grandchild who will now not have the opportunity for a picture when he grows ‘ bigger than Betty.’ Betty had a wonderful life and she brought much joy and many laughs to her friends and family and will be missed and remembered by all of them.
