She is survived by her husband John, son Brant (Renae), and daughter Candice (Curtis). Winnie was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. She left home to pursue a degree in nursing in the United Kingdom. Upon completing her studies, Winnie took a posting in Canada, assigned to the Wadena Hospital in Wadena, SK. Her nursing career lasted 38 years in Wadena. While nursing, Winnie interacted with almost every family in the surrounding area, always leaving her patients with a positive, professional experience. She married in 1963 and enjoyed raising a family in Wadena. Winnie was very active in the church and the community, singing in the church choir and participating in various service organizations. Winnie loved to read; her appetite for reading was almost insatiable. She loved being an Oma to her grandchildren Mason, Ella, Adin, Randall, and Gregory. She did not miss an opportunity to update friends on their activities, consistently demonstrating her adoration and pride by the giant smile on her face. The family will share plans for a Celebration of Life ceremony at a future date. Winnie had a strong appreciation for flowers, but the family asked that donations be directed to the Wadena Union Hospital Auxillary in lieu of flowers.
