Obituary
In Loving Memory of Olga Ella Kereluke On January 31, 2022, Olga Ella died peacefully at Pleasant View Care Home in Wadena, Saskatchewan at the age of 89 years. Olga Ella was born on April 8, 1932 to John and Nettie Zulak, south of Wynyard on her parents farm in the Eastlyn District. She attended country schools at the Eastlyn School from grade 1-8, and continued school at Rushville School from grades 9-11. She was the second oldest of six children. When she was 17 years old, she joined her older sister Anne to live with Baba Stolarchuk (nee Zulak) in Ontario. She had very fond memories of riding the train with Baba Stolarchuk. A couple of her first jobs were picking fruit in the summer and picking tobacco leaves in the fall. She was no stranger to hard work. In time, she worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia in the foreign exchange department in downtown Toronto. She enjoyed her time in Ontario. On weekends, she would go dancing with her young Uncles Raymond, Fred, and Paul Zulak. She commented that they would all go together, but the uncles found dates and she would have to find her way home! Her last job was book keeping at Riverside Motors in Oakville, Ontario. She visited back to Saskatchewan from time to time, and finally she moved back to Wynyard in 1957. She worked for Stern Motors in book keeping. She would say, “that’s where I met your dad!” Bill was with Grandpa Jack looking for tractors. Bill and Olga had a short courtship. They settled in the RM of Elfros and farmed for many years. Bill and Olga had three children, two daughters Susan and Jacqueline and a son Bradley. Olga was involved in various community committees and groups. She later joined together with her daughter Susan to own ‘Sue Ellen’s Ladies Wear” in Wynyard. They did fashion shows to raise money for the Wynyard Union Hospital. She was a grand matron with the Order of the Eastern Star. She was very involved in Saskatchewan Farmers Market Association and the United Church in Wadena, SK where she also did book keeping for them. Olga was an energetic force whom never sat still! She knitted Icelandic sweaters for her children and nieces. She loved to spend time helping out with her grandchildren when they were young. She loved ‘family’! Olga is survived by her: husband William (Bill) John Kereluke; daughter, Susan Olga Kucey (Glenn Tymko) - her children, Janessa Kucey (James Olsen), Jason Kucey and Joel Kucey; daughter Jacqueline, Anette Wagner (Grant Wagner) - their children, Tyler Wagner and Madison Wagner; daughter- in-law Sarah Daly (Bradley’s Family) – their children, Jennifer Daly (Mike Herbert) their children Jaymee, Bridget, and Julia Herbert; Brandon Daly (Jaylene Schellenberg) their child Knox Daly, and Robbie Daly; siblings, Victor Zulak of Wynyard and Victoria Zulak of Saskatoon (Dan Krikau); many nieces and newphews and extended family.
