Box 486 Wynyard, SK S0A 4T0 Victoria Hlady (nee Bodnar) was born July 20, 1933, and she passed May 7, 2022. The first child of Alex and Mary Bodnar, Vicky grew up on the farm with her siblings Sophie, Mike, Annie, Sam, and Larry. As a young girl, she attended Rushville School. In 1953, Vicky met Walter Hlady. They married on July 31, 1955, and had two sons, Dale and Dennis. Their first son, Dale, was born while they still lived at the family farm. In the spring of 1958, they moved to Wynyard where they welcomed their second son, Dennis. Vicky worked at the National Café and Laura’s Café until 1967 when she went to work for the Wynyard Union Hospital. From 1968 until her retirement in 1998, she worked at Golden Acres as a housekeeper, nurses' aid, and activity worker. She also enjoyed her volunteer work with the Ladies Auxiliary. Vicky was blessed with 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She enjoyed being in the kitchen, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She spent time gardening and loved caring for her flowers. Vicky also had a knack for arts and crafts, crocheting, and painting ceramics. Walter and Vicky did a bit of traveling. In 1996, they took the family on a vacation to Disney World in Florida. During retirement, they took a 6-week Alaskan motorhome adventure with Vicky's brother Mike and her sister-in-law Mary. A bit of a risk taker, Vicky tried her luck at various casinos, even traveling to Reno, Nevada. Those risks paid off; many times she left with a big smile. Vicky spent her life selflessly caring for others. She will be greatly missed by her husband Walter; sons Dale (Brenda) and Dennis (Michelle); grandchildren Amanda (Colin), Christy (Mike), Jamie (Robyn), Jenna, and Tanner; great grandchildren Levi, Hannah, Luke, Max, and Ethan; great-great granddaughter Hailey; siblings Mike (Mary), Sam (Nancy), Annie (Walter), and many other family and friends. Vicky is predeceased by her parents Alex and Mary, brother Larry, and sister Sophie.
