Obituary
Myrtle Laura Ethel Romanovitch was born on October 26th, 1942 in Canora, Saskatchewan to Clarence and Ruby Dawe. Myrtle passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2019 with family by her side. She attended Elementary School at the Chain of Lakes School just south of Invermay near the family farm. She moved into Invermay to attend high school. She started her working career babying sitting for a local family from Invermay then she moved to Strasbourg to work in a café. Myrtle returned to Invermay where she met her husband Victor at a Chain of the Lakes ball game. They were married on July 27th, 1962 in Invermay. After their marriage they moved to a farm near Sheho where they worked together and started their family. They were blessed with 2 children, Shelly and Garth, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Eventually they returned to Invermay where they lived for many years, they had a small farm on the edge of Invermay where they kept a few dairy cattle, chickens, pigs and her most cherished horses. After Victor’s passing in August of 1997, Myrtle remained in their home in Invermay until her passing. Myrtle was part of the Rolling Hoof Gymkana Agricultural Society and loved to attend fair days and sports days in Invermay and many of the neighbouring towns. Myrtle also loved to compete in many forms of horse racing. Later in her life she spent time in the spring and the fall chasing cattle with her friends moving them from one pasture to another. Horses were her great love. Myrtle was also a member of the Wadena Singles as dancing was another of her great passions. She enjoyed going to the old time and singles dances with friends and that is where she met Art Hope her companion for the last several years. They spent many hours on the dance floor and socializing with friends. Myrtle leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shelly, her son Garth (Leanne); her grandchildren, Trevor (Colette), Tylor, and Vicki; her great grandchildren, Damon, Harley, Skyla and Ethan; her 2 brothers Allen (Martha) and Sid (Barb) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Myrtle was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Ruby, her husband, Victor, as well as multiple Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law.
