Obituary
There will be a Private Family Funeral Service at a later date due to COVID-19. Hilda May Bjarnason Bevill passed away on September 12, 2020 at the Foam Lake Jubilee Seniors Facility. Hilda May Jones was born on October 17, 1928 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan to Alfred and Hilda Jones from the Copeland District. She and her brothers attended the Poplarview School. In 1942 the family moved from Copeland to the Argyle District north of Elfros. On November 19, 1948 Hilda married Albert Bjarnason from the Gardar District. Two children were born of this union, one daughter Patricia and one son Leon. Hilda spent all of her married life on the farm in the Gardar District between Mozart and Elfros, Her house was always a hub of activity with relatives and neighbors over for cake and coffee or a meal and a visit. She always made everyone feel special. Hilda worked for a time at the Mozart Co-op, Mozart Credit Union, Weneeda Park Lodge (nurse's aide), RM of Elfros (office assistant) and co-owner of B & H Flowers. She was actively involved in the Red Cross, Elfros Union Church Chior, Elfros Union Church Ladies Aide, Treasurer of the Elfros Union Church Board, Icelandic Choir, Eastern Star. In her later years Hilda married Merle Bevill of Elfros and they were able to spend 14 happy years together and travelling extensively. She eventually moved to her cute little apartment (her words) at Maple Grove in Wynyard where she made many new friends. Hilda enjoyed singing, playing piano and guitar at home for her own enjoyment. She loved playing games with friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren. Many of her nieces and nephews spent time at her house and because of her kindness and cheerful attitude she was dearly loved by them all. She was preceeded by her parents, her brother Ken and sister-in-law Evelyn and her husbands Albert and Merle. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Pat (Cal Shaw), her son Leon(Betty Ann) Bjarnason; grandchildren Tonya (Steve Pugh), Alicia (Geoff Claypool), Thorarin (Tara) Bjarnason, Tyrell (Terri) Bjarnason; Step-granddaughter Maya (Marlo Berti); grandchildren Meridith and Tristan Pugh, Lilja and Kiptyn Claypool, Nadia and Magnus Bjarnason, Holden and Audrey Bjarnason and step- granchildren Sophia, Isabella and Milano Berti; brother Eric (Marilyn) Jones, sister-in-law Anne Schearere and broth-in-law Melville Bevill; Special family friend George Holliday and numerous nieces and nephews.
