Obituary
Jeanne Shipman Jeanne passed away peacefully during the early morning hours on October 25th with her daughter Arlene and son Richard at her side. Jeanne was born October 8, 1928 on the family farm located in the Municipality of Wolverine northwest of Lanigan. She was the 2nd of 7 children born to Nick and Rose Kowbel. After high school Jeanne attended Normal School in Saskatoon where she obtained a teaching certificate. She taught in Cypress Hills (Alpine School), St. Benedict, Tisdale (North Harbour School), Rocky Valley School north of Middle Lake and lastly at Copeland School where she met her beloved husband William(Bill) whom she married in 1953. When Jeanne’s children were going to school she would do occasional substitute teaching at the Kawacatoose First Nation. Jeanne loved gardening, sewing clothes for her children, growing flowers, cooking and in later years, going fishing and traveling with Bill. She was very compassionate, caring, loved children, the farm, news and loved recording the daily weather on the calendar. She and Bill would attend the little country church Our Lady of Mount Carmel most Sundays. She is predeceased by: husband William (Bill) Shipman; parents Nick and Rose Kowbel and her siblings Verna Wasylenko (Bernie), Albert Kowbel, Steve Kowbel, Mary Tirk, and Helen Fedorchuck (Joe). Jeanne is survived by: her children Richard (Carol), Brenda (Brian), Larry (Suzanne), Arlene (Bill). Her grandchildren: Patrick, Curtis, Tanya, Kylie, Lance, Desmond, Larissa, Darren, Lesley, Sheri, Bradley; great-grandchildren Anthony, Rylee, Maddex, Ayla, Arielle, Taryn, Kaitlyn, Jeffrey, Kyle, Savanah, Lincoln, Lincoln’s soon to be sibling and her sister Adele Tremblay.
