Obituary
Laura Isobell Logan, a resident of Canora Gateway Lodge, formerly of Sheho, SK, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the age of 96 years. Laura was born at Theodore, SK on March 22,1017, the daughter of Richard and Charlote Streeton. Laura completed her education in Newburn, Rama and Hoosier, SK an received her Grade 12 Diploma. She married Alexander (Bob) Logan on December 2, 1938. They lived their married life on a farm 3 miles north of Sheho. Together, the operated a mixed farm, over the years raising sheep, bees, grain, chicken, turkeys and purebred Shorthorn cattle. Laura worked side by side with Bob in the operation of the farm and home. She was an avid reader, loved flowers, watching game shows, ice skating and curling on t.v., and later years, added bingo and play cards. Laura and Bob were blessed with six children - Maureen, Laura, Thelma, Evelyn, Rhonda and Robert. Mom was very proud of her husband and family. She followed all of their feats, and accomplishments, with enthusiasm and support. She was honorary Mother, Grandma and Aunt to many. Laura was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, in 1982, an infant daughter, two grandchildren, Rhonda and Gregory Thomason, son-in-law James Laird, her parents Charlotte and Richard Streeton, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and Berry Tibbitt, Emma and Johnny Mcleod, brothers Richard and James Streeton, brother-in-law Lee Halvarson, In-laws, George Logan, James and Mary Logan, Margaret and Norman Wunder, parents-in-law, Alexander (Sandy) and Mary Logan. Laura is survived by her six children: Maureen (James) Johnson, Laura (John) Krawetz, Thelma (Doug) Thomason, Evelyn (Jim) Laird, Rhoda (Ian) Shurgot, Robert (Marci) Logan. Her 15 grandchildren: Connie (Kevin) Brokofsky, Lianne (Dave) Eberts-Rioch, Lisa (Lloyd) Welder, Laura (Greg) Poile, Michael (Michelle) Krawetz, Karen Schmidt, Wendell Johnson, Allan (Laura) Laird, Erin (Eric) Lehmann, Chelsea (Brad) Kuhn, Heather (Lenny) Gallant, Carla Shurgot, Jamie (Damian) Shishkin, Christie (Charlie) Ockochinski, Nicole Logan, As well as 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Muriel Halvorson, sister-in-law Laura Logan ( Mrs. George Logan) and brother-in-law Ian Logan. Laura was a gentle, unassuming and loving lady who will be sadly missed by everyone.
