Obituary

In Loving Memory

Cherilyn Holweck

March 1, 1961 - February 20, 2023

Cherilyn Elizabeth Holweck was born March 1st 1961 in Regina, SK to Frank and Alice Holweck.

Cherilyn went to school in Wynyard graduating in 1979. From there she went to Edmonton for a short stint, later returning to Wynyard where she worked in the bar business for a few years.

Feeling she needed to move on, she moved to Regina, where she has been for the past 35 years. She worked various jobs for several businesses. The last 29 years of those being for Sasktel. Cherilyn retired in 2020, and recently was planning to move back to Wynyard to be closer to the family.

Cherilyn was a kind, loving sister and aunt who would always lend you her ear. She didn’t come home much, but we all knew she cared for everyone of us.

She had a love for animals. Over the years, she had many dogs and cats who she considered to be her family as well. She was always worried about her pets!

She was an avid reader, a good cook and she enjoyed working in her yard. She had a good sense of humor and could always make you laugh.

On January 4th of this year, Cherilyn suffered from a stroke which effected the left side of her brain. She was frustrated, but she seemed to be recovering quite well. If you knew Cherilyn, she was a fighter, and this wasn’t going to get her down.

Unfortunately, on February 8th, she had another significant stroke which effected the other side of her brain. From that point on everything thing seemed to be stacked against her.

She passed away peacefully in Regina General Hospital on the 20th of February.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sister Caroline, brother Kevin and her sister Michelle (Darren).

She will be missed by her nieces and nephew. Ashley (Michael), Taylor, Brittney, Apryl and Devon as well as her great niece, Scarlett, and great-nephew, Jake.

She will also be missed and remembered by her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cherilyn was predeceased by her mother Alice (1990) and father Frank (2021).

We will miss our big sister, aunt and friend. May she be at peace and be with those who have passed before us.

We would like to thank the Regina General Hospital for the remarkable care they gave Cherilyn during her stay and final days.

Memories of childhood may someday fade

But never the special games we played

Though our tea party days have come to an end

You're always my sister,

always my friend.
