Obituary
OYSTRYK, Beaulah Ellen (nee McLean), a long-time resident of Biggar, Saskatchewan passed peacefully the morning of Monday Aug 20th surrounded by family. Beaulah was born in Wadena Saskatchewan Sept 4, 1941 to George and Lillie McLean, the second oldest of 6 children. The family lived in various communities within Saskatchewan with Beaulah spending her formative years in Wadena. After finishing school Beaulah moved to Regina to begin her career at SaskTel and a long-distance relationship with Ted Wolff. They married on Sept 6, 1963 in Regina and moved to the Wolff family farm at Hendon in 1964 where they raised 5 children and spent the happiest years of her life being a mother. In 1980 Beaulah and the children moved to Biggar where she became a Special Care Aid working at the Diamond Lodge and then opening Beaulah’s Care Home. She spent the remainder of her career providing the utmost care and comfort for seniors in the community. In 1992 she married George Oystryk and her family expanded with addition of two step daughters. Beaulah and George spent much of their years together dancing and enjoying their friends and family. In retirement Beaulah and George moved to their acreage enjoying country summers and wintered in Arizona. She was diagnosed with ALS in the spring of 2016 and moved into the Biggar Care Center the fall of 2017. She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. She was predeceased by her Mother and Father, brother Doug, and sisters Jeanette, Valarie and Beth. She is survived by her husband of 25 years George, sisters Muriel and Caroline, daughters Loretta, Lorraine, Lynette, Myrna and Lynn, sons Mike and Mark, and numerous grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of the Biggar Care Center and all that provide care to others in their time of need. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Society. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday Aug 24th, at the Biggar Redeemer Lutheran church viewing 10:30am, funeral service 2pm with a gathering at the Biggar Community Hall after the service.
