In Loving Memory of Arleta Wrubleski
Arleta was born December 2, 1925, to Frank and Sadie (Douglas) Provo on their farm near Clair, Saskatchewan, the fourth of six kids. On Wednesday, February 7, 1945, she married Stanley Wrubleski. They met at the Wadena Hospital where Arleta was employed. Together they farmed for 36 years north of Kuroki. During that time, they raised a family of four sons and four daughters: Diane, Katherine, Mariette, Richard, David, Daniel, Thomas, and Leann.
So many memories flood our minds of life with mom: bread-baking days when there would be dog-chokes to eat after we got off the school bus; her great big garden; her creative rock wall, pillars, bird house and baptismal font; playing Bingo; playing cards (kaiser and golf); going to watch her boys play sports; winning many bowling and shuffleboard trophies at the Drop-In Center (which often resulted in her photo in the Wadena News); family reunions; trips to the casino; 2012 vacation in Mexico with many of her kids and grandkids where she went in the ocean for the first time at the age of 86; meeting her great-great-grandson Max; watching the Roughriders and the Blue Jays on TV in her later years when her mobility was a challenge.
Arleta passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon at the age of 97.
Arleta leaves to mourn her: children - Diane (Dean) Pacholko, Calgary; Kathy Gordon (Norm Gray) of Regina; Mariette(Ben) Lozinski of Saskatoon; Rick (Loreen Saunderson) of Saskatoon; Dave (Bev Canaday) of Saskatoon; Danny (Della Elliott) of Wadena; Tom (Maureen Elliott) of Wadena; and Leann (Brent) Wihlidal of Regina; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister Verna Crapley Peterson of Shellbrook, plus numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Arleta was predeceased by her: husband Stan (1992); grandson Michael (1984); father Frank (1983); mother Sadie (1993) Provo; brothers Ralph (1929) and Cliff (2021); sisters Ivy Dalman (2002) and Hannah Borthwick (2009); as well as several in-law relatives.
