In Loving Memory of Ken Starsina (Star)

It is with much love but leaky eyes the family of Ken Staresina announces his passing on June 11, 2023 in Kelvington, Saskatchewan at the age of 83 years old.

Ken’s strength, genuineness, sense of humour, and Croatian pride will remain legendary with all that knew and loved him.  Ken loved to chat, tease absolutely everyone, watch his grandsons playing hockey and football, drive through the fields and to the lakes around Kelvington, cheer for the Bluejays and of course the Leafs, play cards, go for a coffee (rum and coke in his younger years),  watch his birds, and visit with everyone...

Ken had a spectacular life with his wife Penny of 56 years, and she will miss him every day.

Ken will be forever remembered by his daughters and their husbands, Carla and Paul (McNair), Nicole and Paul (Davis).  His three grandsons; David (Abby), Matthew, and Benjamin ( who is raising a toast in Australia for his beloved Papa).

Ken's sisters and their families made him so proud and added  so much love in his life;  Sylvia and Gerald Fiske and Irene (Dale d.) Frier.  His In-Laws were always a source of joy and jokes and all the extended family they brought into his life. Michelle and Werner who provided so much support  and love in the last years were truly special. We know all his treasured nephews and nieces  and their famiies will keep telling Uncle Ken stories for the years to come.

Ken was born in Montreal on January 22, 1940, and moved to Girvin, Saskatchewan where he developed his love of farming and Saskatchewan.  He is preceded by his mom and dad and his brother-in-law Dale Frier and way too many friends and relatives that we know are ready for a game of crib  or Kaisar and a laugh.
