July 12, 1959 – August 27, 2023 Trudy was born in Rose Valley, SK. She attended schools in Rose Valley, SK, Kleinburg, ON and Woodbridge, ON, and Central High School in Regina, SK. She was raised on the Kolbenson family farm near Fosston, SK until 1970 when she moved to Kleinburg, and then Woodbridge, ON where they lived until 1974. At that time, she moved with her mother and brother to Regina. Trudy continued living in Regina until her passing. Trudy leaves to mourn her passing her: brother Curtis, Auntie Donna Yamniuk, Auntie Lea Bjerland, Uncle Peter (Karen) Bjerland, Uncle Mel Bjerland, and Auntie Lora Dahnke; Godchildren - Lauren Dahnke, Brett Bjerland, Wade Bjerland and Kayla Toupin (Bjerland); as well as Auntie Bernice Kolbenson and many cousins and close friends. Trudy was predeceased by her: father Carl in 1973, mother Arlie in 2017; grandpa Kolben in 1960; grandma Annie in 1962; grandpa Thorben in 1973; and grandma Helga in 1981. Our family wishes to extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Kabongo and his staff, as well as the SICU and ICU staff at the General and Pasqua hospitals in Regina for their tender care of Trudy. A viewing will be held at 12:00-12:45 p.m. and a service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Elim Evangelical Free Church in Fosston, SK.
Pastor William Dyck will be officiating, having a live streaming of the service. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Narfason’s Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers those so wishing may make a donation, in Trudy’s memory, to the Elim EFC Cemetery Fund, Box 28, Fosston, SK S0E 0V0, or via e-transfer to eefc2023@gmail.com.
