Celebrating the Life of Amanda Kuras

1981-2023

Amanda Lyn Kuras, 41, of Regina, SK, passed away on September 5th after a valiant battle with cancer.

Amanda was born on September 16th, 1981 to Stan and Linda Kuras of Wadena. After graduating from Wadena High School in 1999, she entered the work force full-time as a dishwasher at Chauncy’s Restaurant where she quickly rose through the ranks to become Head Chef.

After mastering basic culinary skills, Amanda moved to Regina in 2005 to expand her skills at a new restaurant, The Copper Kettle.

While working at The Copper Kettle, Amanda met the love of her life Darcy Puff. She and Darcy built a wonderful life together in Regina, first adopting a beautiful cat, Larry, and then their amazing dog, Maze.

After perfecting her abilities, she stepped out of her comfort zone and began working at the Renaissance Retirement Home as Head Chef in 2012. This provided new challenges as well as a chance to develop relationships with the residents. She worked her way up to become Food Service Manager in 2015. With her expertise and ability, in 2019, she was awarded the Revera Award for Culinary Service and Excellence.

Amanda is predeceased by grandparents: Mike and Georgina Hepp, & Walter and Annie Kuras. She is survived by partner Darcy Puff; parents Stan and Linda, brothers: Michael (Crystal), Jason (Krysten), Travis (Megan), nieces: Sierra and Savannah, and nephew Sam.
