Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Elsie Maleschuk. Elsie passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Elsie was born on April 8, 1926 to George and Bella Kuprowski, as a child she was raised on the family farm in the Sheho district. Upon completion of her school years, Elsie was employed at the Foam Lake Union Hospital as a nurses aid. On October 11, 1953 Elsie married John Maleschuk, they made their life together on the family farm south of Lintlaw, SK. In the year 2000 Elsie moved to Wadena for her retirement years. She enjoyed the town life very much. Elsie was happiest when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were at her home. She would drop whatever she was doing and be sure that her “babies” were well taken care of. Elsie enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking; she was known for the best perogies, best cabbage rolls, and best apple pie. There was never a fear of not having enough to eat. Elsie was predeceased by; son, Wayne (1957); husband, John (1987). She is survived by; son, Eugene (Sandy) Maleschuk; daughter, Sherry (Allan) Workman; grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Maleschuk, Ellys (Cherie) Maleschuk, Elyse Markowsky, Tenielle Workman, Tanya Workman; great-grandchilden, Skyler, Landon, Rayna, Jackson Maleschuk, Austin, Ethan, Elyssa, Emmalie, Emmet, Ayla, Cora Maleschuk, and Arianna Markowsky.
