In Loving Memory of Donald "Don" Schroeder

Donald Werner Schroeder passed away at the Wynyard Hospital on November 25, 2023 at the age of 71. Don spent most of his life in Wynyard. Some of the things he enjoyed were fishing, biking, yardwork, collecting model cars and cleaning geese for American hunters. He worked at the Recycle Centre and was an ardent recycler himself, rarely throwing anything out. He mowed lawns and shovelled snow for many elderly women, and one even gave him something in her will. 

 

Don was predeceased by his parents Werner and Theresa Schroeder, and niece Debra Lynn Sanders. He is survived by his sister Jocelyn Sanders (Marty) and their children Scott (Denise), Mark and Marie (Will) MacPhail and his sister Brenda King (Bob) and their children Rob (Crystal) and Elizabeth as well as his great nephews William MacPhail, Nathan King and great niece Riley King. 

 

The family would like to thank Don’s homecare team, especially Cindy, for their exceptional kindness over the years. Thanks also to the staff at the Wynyard Hospital and Golden Acres.

 

Donations can be made in Don’s memory to Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. Rest in peace Don.
