In Loving Memory of Twyla Neilson

Twyla Rae Neilson of Wadena, SK passed away on December 31, 2023 in Royal University Hospital, at the age of 55 years.

Twyla was born at Wadena Union Hospital on February 13th, 1968 to Inez (Wallster) Neilson and George Neilson, the youngest and probably the most spoiled of 6 children. Twyla attended Kindergarten to Grade 12 in the Wadena schools. She then went on to achieve her hair dressing degree. She also attended business school and was always learning.

Twyla was a hard worker and had multiple jobs along her journey of life. She thoroughly enjoyed her final career at the Preeceville and District Hospital where she worked as a cook. She loved her co-workers and all the residents.

Twyla really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, go to the lake, read, and be in the kitchen. She loved cooking meals for large crowds or just to fill other peoples freezers. Anyone can attest, that she was hands down, the best baker ever - we won’t forget her 10 pound cheese cakes. Twyla had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh which matched her magnetic personality. Twyla was a treasured friend to many.

Twyla is survived by: her children Cody (Maxine) Meroniuk and Kacie Meroniuk; her mother Inez Neilson, also known as Gramma Bingo; her brothers Terry Neilson, Randy (Michelle) Neilson, Sam (Audrey) Neilson; her sister-in-law Peggy Neilson; her nieces Raena (Ryan) Baker, Marci (Frank) Bond, Jade Neilson, Jodie Neilson and Brooke (Matt) Gore; her nephews Lars (Angela) Gauthier, Shane (Shauna) Gauthier, Ryan (Kelsie) Neilson, Regan Neilson, Marc (Briana) Neilson, Lane (Cayt) Neilson and Joel Neilson: her great nieces and nephews; Quinn and Max Olson, Ashley, Brecken, Rhett and Sammy Baker, Madden and Emmy Gauthier, Clara Gauthier, Brennan and Aria Neilson, Parker and Cooper Bond, Bodie and Mia Neilson, Bella Neilson, Georgina and Richard Gore, Blake and Liv Neilson.

Twyla is predeceased by: her father George Neilson, brother Kevin Neilson, sister Wendy Gauthier, sister-in-law Marian Neilson and brother-in-law Larry Gauthier.

Twyla will be fondly remembered by Nicole Herle, the Meroniuk family, cousin Dougie, and all her friends and loved ones.

We will forever miss you Twy… you will never be forgotten.
