Joel was born on April 16, 1970 to parents Wendy and Leonard Eyahpaise.

He will be remembered by his parents Wendy and Leonard; his siblings Terrence (Carol) Eyahpaise, Serena (Richard) Matheson, and Mercina (Kimberlain) Eyahpaise; his children: Jeremy Bergen and Christopher Bergen; granddaughter Frances and special friend Barb Bergen, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.

Joel was predeceased by: his grandparents John and Mary Eyahpaise; Jessie Squirrel and Robert Roper and his sister Cindi Starr Eyahpaise.
