In Loving Memory of AnnaMay West

AnnaMay was born to Fred and Helen (McCulloch) Abtosway in Foam Lake on February 12, 1949. She was the youngest of 5 children: Faye, Victor, Charlotte, Carol, AnnaMay.

She attended school in Foam Lake, and was a very good student. She had many fond memories of growing up in town, including playing with her older sister, Carol, and the Dunphy girls.

On October 16, 1964, AnnaMay married Dennis West. Dennis and AnnaMay were blessed with 3 daughters: Sheryn, Ronda, and Debbie. They lived on the West Family farm, and later moved into Foam Lake, where AnnaMay operated the Chicken Inn for a number of years. AnnaMay later worked at the Western Hotel, and SGI. In 1979, AnnaMay and her girls moved to Saskatoon, where she attended Saskatoon Business College, earning a business degree. She was employed with Eilan Enterprises as a court reporter. In 1983, they returned to Foam Lake, where she continued working as a court reporter in and around the area. Through the years, she was also employed at Tri-R Restaurant, the Western Hotel, and later became the manager of the Foam Lake Housing Authority. AnnaMay was the Housing Authority manager for 27 years, cultivating friendships with many wonderful people – tenants and board members alike.

AnnaMay enjoyed visiting, coffee with family and friends, and could never say no to a game of cards – 3 spot, Canasta, Cribbage.

AnnaMay was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching them in their many sports and activities – hockey, football, dance, etc., having coffee and lunch with them, watching movies, and especially playing board games – Aggravation!

AnnaMay was pre-deceased by her parents, Fred and Helen Abtosway, her oldest sister and brother-in-law Faye and Fred Magera, her nephews Dale Shrader and Butch Shrader, her brother-in-law Vern Shrader, her Mother and Father-in-law Bill and Norma West.

AnnaMay leaves to cherish her memory, her 3 daughters and their families: Sheryn (Jim Clarke) West, Halen (Travis) Cameron, Mitchell (Miranda) Panchyk, Meagan (Brittni) Panchyk; Ronda (Wade Lindgren) West, Amber (Jeremy Lalach) Pankratz, Cylis, Asher, Chloe Lalach, Tessa (Bryan Kambeitz) Pankratz, Teagan, Joel, Hazel Kambeitz, Mark Pankratz, LeeAnn Pankratz; Debbie (Jeremy) Fedak, Garrett (Presley) Fedak, Kinsley Fedak, Brenna Fedak, Kaden Fedak, Matteo Fedak, brother Victor (Nettie) Abtosway, sisters Charlotte (Don) Shrader, Carol (Arnold Holmes) Shrader, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Dennis West.

If Roses Grow in Heaven

By Dolores M. Garcia

If roses grow in heaven,

Lord please pick a bunch for me,

Place them in my Mother’s arms

and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it every day,

but there’s an ache within my heart

that will never go away.

A service will be held
