AnnaMay was born to Fred and Helen (McCulloch) Abtosway in Foam Lake on February 12, 1949. She was the youngest of 5 children: Faye, Victor, Charlotte, Carol, AnnaMay.
She attended school in Foam Lake, and was a very good student. She had many fond memories of growing up in town, including playing with her older sister, Carol, and the Dunphy girls.
On October 16, 1964, AnnaMay married Dennis West. Dennis and AnnaMay were blessed with 3 daughters: Sheryn, Ronda, and Debbie. They lived on the West Family farm, and later moved into Foam Lake, where AnnaMay operated the Chicken Inn for a number of years. AnnaMay later worked at the Western Hotel, and SGI. If Roses Grow in Heaven
By Dolores M. Garcia
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
A service will be held
at a later date
