Obituary

In Loving Memory of Yvonne Fenton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Fenton on March 19, 2024, in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, at the age of 86.

Yvonne was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan on July 23rd 1937, to Clara and Arthur Josephson. Yvonne grew up with her parents and two sisters, Irene and Nona, in Wynyard. She worked at the Bank of Montreal after finishing high school. On August 19th, 1956 Yvonne married the love of her life, Oran Fenton, and they lived happily in Hendon for many years, where their family of two became a family of seven. Yvonne worked at the Credit Union that Oran helped build and then Oran began his lifelong career with the CPR. Hendon was where they felt at home, with many close friends who became like family. Many nights were spent visiting and making memories with close friends, and of course, Yvonne and Oran could always be found at the local dance, doing what they loved to do together. In 1968 Yvonne, Oran and the kids packed up and moved to Wynyard, but they kept their family farm for a number of years and went back to visit often. After living at the train station for a number of years, Yvonne and Oran built their forever home in Wynyard, a place their children and grandchildren would come to call home for many years.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents Clara and Arthur Josephson, her loving husband Oran Fenton, her sister Nona Longstaff, her son in-law Keith Uhrich and her two grandchildren Chantaey and Preston Katchmar.

Left to cherish Yvonne’s memory are her loving children Jerry, Randy (Carol), Cindy, Janice (Allen), and Carla (Lionel), her sister Irene, her 14 grandchildren, Jed (Chelsea), Malynn (Jim), Blaine (Lilias), Danny, Erin (Mike), Kevin (Christina), Colin (Tara), Jill (Jesse), Cory (Tristine), Brett, Justin, Ashlyn (Donovan), Kailyn, and Jaedin, as well as her 17 great-grandchildren, and of course, her beloved dog Joey.

Like a flower, life blooms briefly yet exquisitely. Your existence will forever be etched in our hearts, a timeless reminder of the beauty you brought to this world.
