Celebrating The Life of
Allan "Busty" Grona
Allan Nicholas Grona (aka Busty) passed peacefully on April 18, 2024, in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. He was born on February 2, 1966, to Nick and Ruth Grona. Allan was involved in a variety of sports during and after he graduated from Kelvington High School in 1984. In 1990 he married Bernadine Whitford and he adopted her son, Kyle shortly after. They welcomed the twinkle of her father's eye, their daughter Alicia in 1990 and completed their family when Nicholas arrived in 1994.
Busty was known throughout the area while running his business “Busty Tire” for many years. Throughout his life, he was heavily involved in the community as a hockey coach, active fundraiser, and supporter of many community events. He was most proud of his position as a volunteer firefighter. Allan was an avid fisherman and hunter, spending many hours in the bush and on the water teaching others the hunting and fishing tricks and skills he knew.
Busty loved to socialize, whether it was with friends in town or the new parents he met on the road with his children's hockey. In his later years, he continued his outdoor activities, and his joy became spending time with his grandchildren, when he wasn't working for the Department of Highways.
Busty will be remembered for his extremely kind and generous spirit; the guy who always stopped to help someone in need. He will forever be remembered by those that loved him, for his honesty, and incredible work-ethic.
Allan was predeceased by: his grandparents; his father, Nick Grona; his mother Ruth Grona and her partner Francis Doan.
Left to mourn his passing are: his wife of 34 years, Bernie; his children, Kyle (Miranda), Alicia (Calvin), and Nicholas (Katie); his grandchildren, Texley, Ellis, Clark and Halle; his brother, Dale, and sister, Anna, as well as many extended family members and many friends.
