Obituary

In Loving Memory Of Mervin Halvorson

Mervin Joseph Halvorson was born on April 27, 1964 in Wadena, Sk to parents Donald and Peggy Halvorson. He joined older siblings Mary, Adeline, Roseanne, Morris and Valerie. Mervin attended elementary school in Kuroki and graduated from Wadena Composite High School.

Mervin began farming, and driving the school bus in 1982.In 1987,he met Alison Owen and they married on November 12, 1988.Together they welcomed four children - Sean, Ryan, Michelle and Matthew.

Mervin was a life long farmer and in 1998 he began his custom spraying business. He was a very hard - working man, working from sun up to sun down, 7 days a week. There was nothing that Mervin was scared to try, from building his own workshop, and house to manufacturing farm machinery.

Mervin was very musical, playing in numerous bands when he was a young man.He was currently learning how to play the banjo. Mervin loved sports, and curled in every bonspiel he could. He was a huge hockey fan and never missed a Wadena Wildcat game.If you ever saw him at a wedding or event you would have seen his passion and love for dancing.

The main focus and joy in life was his family. Mervin loved and supported his children in every aspect of their lives. He was very fortunate to see all of his children happily married and was overjoyed to be a Papa to his 4 little granddaughters.

Mervin was a good, kind man all of his life.He helped anyone that he could and he will be greatly missed. The love we shared with him in his life will sustain us for the rest of our lives.

Mervin was pre-deceased by his eldest son Sean; his Godparents Marcel and Alice Dery; and his dear friend and cousin Robert Hilbig.

Mervin is survived by: his loving wife Alison;his children Ryan and Alyssa Halvorson (Abby and Harper); Kaleb and Michelle Van Den Bossche (Ella and Sadie); and Matthew and Mikayla Halvorson; his parents Donald and Peggy; hisin-law parents Bruce and Jean Owen; and all of his siblings;numerous nieces and nephews and his dear friends Borden and Linda Woloshyn, Michael and Rachel Hilbig, and his Sunday morning coffee crew Dale Bindig and Kelly Panasiuk.
