It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Olga Peterson. Olga was born to John and Mary Ostapowich on February 28, 1942. She attended a country school, Harvard and finished her schooling in Wynyard. Olga married Gordon Peterson on July 15, 1961. They were blessed with two sons, Scott and Shannon. Olga was a homemaker and was actively involved on the farm. She trucked a lot of grain from the combine. She was an avid reader, loved to knit, loved to golf, and loved to cross-stitch. Many people have cross-stitch pieces of Olga’s to treasure. Olga and Gordon had a framing business and Olga was a perfectionist when framing pictures for anyone. Olga had a true passion for her yard and it showed, during the summer you would always find her outside. Gordon found out this past summer how much work Olga actually did in the yard. Gordon and Olga enjoyed several winters at their place in Florida. Olga succumbed to a nine month battle with cancer on January 24, 2016 with her life partner by her side. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 54 years Gordon; son Scott (Niki), Scott’s children Brandon (daughter Fjola), Justine (Marty), Severin and Harcus; son Shannon (Laura), Shannon’s children Rachel and Jenna. Also left to mourn her are her brothers Adolph and Steve, as well as many family members and friends. Olga was predeceased by her parents John and Mary, her brothers Mike, Edward, Bruce and sister Rose.
