In Loving Memory of Annie Shewchuk
Anne Shewchuk was born on September 13, 1929 as the eldest daughter to Mike and Mary Wielgoz. She grew up in the Cresswell district, where she also attended school.
From an early age, Anne was busy in the kitchen cooking for a thrashing crew of thirty men and baking pies. Over the course of her lifetime, she made hundreds of thousands of perogies, not to mention all of the cabbage rolls, beetniks, scuffles, and pots of soup.
A hard worker, Anne was up at the break of dawn to milk the cows and always willing to roll out perogy dough in the church basement. She was a dedicated member of the church choir and also frequented bingos in the area.
Anne lived on a farm near Wishart much of her life, before moving into Wynyard. She spent the past seven years at Golden Acres before her peaceful passing on July 20, 2024.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Joe; sons Ed, Mike, and Dan (Springer); nine of her ten siblings, and other loved ones.
She is survived by her sister Violet, daughters Caroline and Susan, daughters-in-law Bonnie and Tera, and countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
