Mom was born on April 30, 1925 to parents Wasyl and Helen Usipuik, the fourth of eight children. She was raised on the family farm south of Wynyard and attended Halicz School. On November 12, 1942 she married the love of her life Peter Babey and they began their life together on the farm in the Krasne district. In 1943 they welcomed the first of four children. Mom enjoyed nothing more than making friends, entertaining, cooking, baking, sewing and knitting. She loved to garden and make perogies, giving away perogies and vegetables by the bagful. She kept busy with church and UCWLC activities. Mom loved playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Peter in October 1985, her parents Wasyl and Helen and an older sister Annie. Mom is survived by her children, Earl (Anne) Babey, Saskatoon; Lillian (Neil) McConnachie, Fairlight SK; Lorraine (Glenn) Brodt, Saskatoon; Carolyn (Bill) Flynn, Birtle MB. Baba is also survived by grandchildren: Earl J. (Dana) Babey, Saskatoon; Jodie (Greg) Wagner, Saskatoon; Neil Peter (Jody) McConnachie, Virden MB; Clint (Kristina) McConnachie, Regina; Corinne (Jody) Gress, Saskatoon ; Carla Brodt, Saskatoon; Kimberly (Michael) Duncalfe, Saskatoon; Krista Flynn, Brandon MB; Patrick ( Jennifer) Flynn, Birtle MB. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren. Mom is also survived by sisters Lena Latoski, Mary Kucey and brothers and sisters-in-law John (Magnell), Joe (Elizabeth), Mack (Dorothy) and Steve (Bernice) in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and god children.
