To all of Francis’s family and friends: We were so blessed that we got the opportunity to know Francis, that he searched for and found us, and that we were able to spend time with him during his time in Texas. We loved being with him, and really had fun taking him to Caprock Canyon and the 6666 Ranch. He loved his Texas roots, and we loved hearing stories he had for us about our kin….some of whom we knew and others we had just heard about. We are also very thankful to have gotten to know Amber and Bill as well. And then for our golden doodles (Merv and Junior) to get together too! We very quickly loved this amazing man, and will miss him, his texts, and his phone calls terribly. God bless and keep you all, and we send our love to each one. Sharon Willingham and Max White

My name is Fred Susun, and I met MW Bro Francis Hester through another Masonic brother, MW Bro. Isaac Brower Berkhoven when Francis needed intricate Masonic ring with certain budget. Isaac told him that the only place you can get that done is Westmount Jewellers, just go and send my greetings to Fred and tell him what you like.
Sure enough Francis showed up at the store, brought greetings from Isaac, and told me what he wanted and gave me his budget, after considering my relation with Isaac, told him that i will get it done.
When the ring was completed, I delivered it to him in a lodge meeting in SK, you should have seen his face, it was a kid opening his Christmas gift and the rest was history.
Since then our relation became as solid as 24 Karat solid gold, and we met at common Masonic meetings in AB and SK, and the highlight of the trip was to go out side, smoke a cigarillo and drink scotch, and solve Masonic Challenges, then fix the world problems while we are on that subject.
One time we met at Meadow Lake SK, and Francis wanted to have scotch, pop corn and cigarillo in the field, in the middle of the day, under the hot summer heat, which sounded very unusual for me, but after couple of sips of scotch, puffs of cigarillos, and stories, everything became first class, and when people brag about going to posh clubs and talking about having the best times, I tell them that there is no better times then having neat scotch under the sun in the fields of Saskatchewan.
MW Bro. Hester was very active in Freemasonry as well as in all organizations he related to, with it he made many friends, and that kept him hoping all over the Northern America, for that reason he gained my respect and admiration.
Ones I visited Francis at his Log Cabin that was my first time staying in a Log Cabin and was very special for me. That night I met his lovely wife Sharon, at the dinner I found out that she was going to lead Eastern Star that year, and I promised to support her in her leadership year, with it our relation got even closer with the Hester family.
To sum up, Francis was great friend, father, grandfather and a brother, I am very sad to loose such person.
Farewell my brother,
Fred Susun

Francis reminded me so much of my Dad. They would have gotten along like a house afire, sharing hunting and fishing experiences. I loved listening to his stories and just enjoying his gentle company.
