Celebrating The Life Of Randy Fenton

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Fenton on September 27, 2024, in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, at the age of 65.

Randy was born on March 25, 1959 in Wadena, Saskatchewan to Yvonne and Oran Fenton. He grew up surrounded by the love of his parents and siblings Jerry, Cindy, Janice, and Carla. At the young age of 17, Randy followed in his father’s footsteps and began his career with CP Rail in Wynyard, quickly becoming the youngest engineer on the railroad. His lifelong career as a train engineer was not only a source of pride, but also the foundation of countless friendships that he considered family.

In his younger years, Randy was known as the life of the party, with a sense of humor that could light up a room. He was a natural storyteller, always telling jokes and singing songs—sometimes a bit cheeky, but always a hit with the crowd. Randy also had a green thumb and a talent for cooking, making him a great party host.

In his later years, Randy settled into a quieter life on an acreage just outside of Wynyard with his loving wife, Carol.

Randy made one last ride around the acreage on his riding mower the day he passed, doing what he loved, in the place he loved most, with the person he called his best friend.

Randy is predeceased by his parents, Yvonne and Oran Fenton. He leaves behind his loving wife Carol; his children: Erin (Mike) and Kevin (Christina); his stepchildren: Ryan (Monica), Pam (Curtis), Derek (Nicole), and Dallas (Courtnay); his grandchildren: Kiona, Caleb, Aiden, Grae, Loki, Avery, Molly, McCallister, Roland, Jace and many others who will forever cherish his memory.

Randy, you may not have been with us long, but you brought immense love and laughter to all who had the privilege to know you. As the saying goes, “We’re here for a good time, not a long time.”

Rest easy, Ran Man. You will be missed.
