Obituary of Sharon (Hetland) Ilg
In Loving Memory Of Sharon (Hetland) Ilg
Beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, Sharon Barbara Jenene (Hetland) Ilg, passed peacefully Nov. 26, 2024 in the presence of her sons Randy and Darryl. Sharon is pre-deceased by her: father Harold Jonas Hetland, mother Lillian Geneva (Larson) Hetland, husband Albert John Ilg, brothers Orvillle (and wife Ruth) Hetland, Wally (and wife Jean) Hetland, Layne (and wife Sandy) Hetland, Mark Hetland, and sister Joyce (and husband Ralph) Snyder.
Sharon is survived by: sons Randy (and wife Chrisie McGrath-Ilg) Ilg, Kevin (and wife Sue) Ilg, and Darryl (and spouse Nicole Dyck) Ilg; grandsons - Liam Ilg, Kevin Ilg Jr., and granddaughters - Tressa Jones, Dawn Ilg, Kiara-Leigh Leblanc, Kayla-Dawn Beavers, Lauren Dyck and great-granddaughter Everest Blair; sisters - Ina (and husband Richard) Kannenberg, Carmelle (and husband Ian) Grant, and brothers - Ray (and wife Jane) Hetland, and Ronnie (and wife Patti) Hetland, and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon had fond memories of her childhood on the farm, and closeness with her siblings. She often speaks of her schooling in Saskatoon, where she met Albert, and her eldest son Randal was born. Albert and Sharon moved to Calgary shortly after Randy’s birth and welcomed sons Kevin and Darryl. The family spent many years in Calgary, making frequent trips to Saskatchewan to visit extended family. Sharon and Albert frequently camped with the boys in Alberta and Saskatchewan. After Albert’s passing, Sharon returned to Spalding to be near her mother. Sharon enjoyed her retirement in Spalding visiting with her nephew Gary almost daily, visits with Ronnie and Patti on the family farm, hosting sister Carmelle’s family when they visited from Alberta, daily calls with her sister Ina, and remained close with her slightly younger brother Ray. Sharon loved all of her grandchildren and enjoyed watching their lives even from afar through Facebook. Sharon was a second mother to many of her boys’ friends, and the favorite auntie to many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
