Celebrating The Life Of Darlene Bender

Darlene Charolette (Campbell) Bender, 77, of Wynyard, SK passed away on December 13, 2024 at Wynyard Hospital.

Darlene was born in Regina, SK, to Harry and Annette Campbell on February 10th, 1947.  Darlene attended school at Big Quill, Product, Copeland, and Kandahar Country Schools in the Kandahar District until grade 8, she then moved to Wynyard Composite High School, Wynyard,SK, where she graduated. She then married Henry Bender in 1965. They had their first son, Randy, in January of 1966, followed by a daughter, Roxy, in December of 1968 while living on the farm.Mom worked on the farm until Sept. 1979, when she started as a teachers aid in Kandahar, and continued in that field in Wynyard.  Darlene was very respected by her coworkers, along with her side jobs of cleaning at the Wynyard Post Office/ Cooperators, Wynyard Scotia Bank, SaskTel and Quillside.  She continued cleaning at Quillside afte she retired at the age of 65.

Darlene had many hobbies, some of which included:sewing,  gardening, stamping, knitting and crocheting.  Spending time with her family and grandchildren were at the top of her list. They made many memories together and she cherished every moment.

Darlene is survived by her: son Randy (Tara) of Wynyard; grandchildren: Tyler (Kim) Bender, great grandsons: Benjamin and Jackson of Martensville; granddaughter Tia (Thomas) Sawchyn; great-grand daughter Alexis of Regina; brother Frank (MariAnne) Campbell of Whitehorse; Shirley (Ed) McSymytz of Greenwater; Sheila (Terry) Doidge of Dafoe with many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews; and many more who loved her.

Darlene is predeceased by: her father Harry Campbell; mother Annette Campbell; husband Henry Bender; daugther Roxy Bender; and sister Marilyn Campbell.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Wynyard Elementary School Playground Equipment Fund.
