Obituary
Glenn Rodney Parr was born on August 11, 1942, at Canora Hospital, Canora, Saskatchewan. Glenn was the 3rd of 7 children born to Richard & Lillian (Haning) Parr. At this time the Parr family lived East of Invermay. When Glen was 5 years old, the family moved from Invermay to Quill Lake where his dad, Richard, was employed as a mechanic. Glenn completed grades 1-8 at the Quill Lake Schools. Glenn began his working career after completing grade 8. His first job was working as a farm laborer for Keith Graham. Over the years, he also worked various jobs, he worked at the shop with his Dad, on road construction, drove and owned a gravel truck, and was a coompetant self-taught mechanic. Throughout the years, although Glenn lived many places in Alberta, and Saskatchewan he always referred to Quill Lake and Theodore as home. Glenn was a quiet, kind man, with a great sense of humour. Glenn enjoyed visiting, coffee and a cigarette, playing cribbage and other card games, a shot or two and in his younger days the odd prank. Glenn was also an avid fisherman; it was never too hot or too cold for a day of fishing. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and always had time for young children, taking interest to show them things or teach them or just chat a little. He was well known for taking his Quill Lake nieces and nephews fishing and bottle picking and bought them their first bike and pellet gun, and perhaps, Glenn may have given them their first cigarette or beer. Glen was predeceased by: his parents, Richard & Lillian Parr; brother Calvin Parr; nephew Richard (Rick) Parr; brothers-in-law ,Fred Pawluk & Maurice Van Den Bossche. Glen is survived by: his siblings, Arnold, Lorraine, Marvin, Marlene & Jenine (Wayne Morrissey); sister-in-law, Betty Parr; 17 nieces and nephews; several great nieces & nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews and other extended family.
