As per Kerri's wishes there will be a private family funeral service Everyone is welcome to a Come & Go Tea 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 Wynyard Civic Centre Donations in memory of Kerri may be made to The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, or Wynyard Hospital Auxiliary - Palliative Care Kerri was born October 8th, 1955 in Wynyard , Sk and was the youngest of four children born to Mildred Rotzien & Sydney Tapper. Kerri grew up in and attended schools in Wynyard & Regina. Having moved back to Wynyard, she married Terry Hankewich in 1972 and started working at what is now Lilydale Foods. Just over a year later they welcomed their daughter Michelle and 12 years after that, their son Michael. In 2011 and 2013 Mom was blessed with her grandsons Barrett and Jase. She lived for her family, loving them deeply and fiercely. Her grandkids were the center of her attention, the lights of her life. There was nothing she would rather do than be with them. Gardening, cooking, and keeping an immaculate home were some of the things that filled any free time Kerri might have had. Young at heart, Kerri enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and had a great sense of humor. She was always quick to tell a joke or make someone smile. Having previously beaten breast cancer, Kerri helped several others with their cancer journey. A strong, supportive woman, Mom knew what to say or do to help someone feel better. She was many things to many people. Being a hard worker her whole life, she retired in 2013 allowing her to spend more time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed having morning coffee on the deck with her true love Terry, discussing things great and small. Sadly, all that Mom enjoyed would come to a halt in March when she was diagnosed with neuro-endocrine cancer. While she fought hard, this would be the one battle that Mom lost. Predeceased by her mother Mildred Johannesson, father Sydney Tapper, stepfather Mike Johannesson, sister Marsha Wilderman, in-laws Metro and Mary Hankewich and brother-in-law Peter Hankewich. Survived by husband Terry; daughter Michelle (Garth); son Michael (Marie) grandsons Barrett, Jase; sister Maxine Tapper; brother Louis Tapper (Nancy); sister-in-law Anne Klopoushak (Stan); sister-in-law Evelyn Hankewich and brother-in-law John (Mary) Hankewich; nephew Mark Wilderman and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
