Funeral Service: Saturday, August 23, 2014 1:00 p.m. Wynyard Ukrainian Hall Wynyard, Saskatchewan Interment: Wynyard Cemetery Ed passed away Aug. 12, 2014 at the Wynyard Hospital at the age of 85. Ed was born Dec. 13, 1928 to Mike and Julia (Malinowski) in Sandon, B.C., where Mike was working as a miner. The family settled on a farm near Wynyard where Ed got his education at Nordra school, a short 2 mile walk from the farm. On July 27, 1950 he married Alice Eccles, his partner and friend for 64 years. They lived in Wynyard, where he worked as a mechanic, until they were able to move to their own farm, southwest of Wynyard. Ed enjoyed farm life, raising cattle and hogs, as well as grain. In 1981, Ed and Alice moved to town, where Ed worked at various jobs until his retirement. After retirement, Ed had various interests and hobbies. He enjoyed going to auction sales and garage sales, snowmobiling, fishing, working in his yard and garden. His hobbies included quilting and woodworking. Ed leaves to mourn his wife Alice, three sons and six grandchildren: Randy - Ryan, Braden (Taylor); Murray (Rosemarie) - Shauna; and Richard (Kim) - Mark (Tasha), Crystal and Chad. Ed was predeceased by his parents and brothers Albert, Ernie and Wayne.
