Obituary
Vic was the second oldest son of Edwin Ottmann and Pearl (Elliot). He was born in the Wadena Hospital on September 2, 1923. Vic’s siblings were Garnet (deceased), Lloyd, Clayton (deceased), Milly Peterson (deceased), Don, and Pauline Althouse. In 1948, Vic married Jean (Halvorson) his lifelong partner of 67 years. Shortly after their marriage, Vic worked on the railway followed by logging in BC. After Willow Glen II closed, Vic was happy to obtain the school bus contract. He purchased a coral coloured station wagon to drive the students to Wadena, and so his bus driving career began. However, farming remained his main passion. Growing the crops and combining always brought a lot of joy in Vic’s life. A few years later Vic started working at Ottmann’s Meats, he was known as the “sausage man.” In later years, Vic and Jean enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, hunting, the History Channel, and watching the Blue Jays. The most important thing in Vic’s life was his family, he was so proud of everyone, their accomplishments, and their love of life. Vic was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Pearl Ottmann, son Kenneth, grandson Mark, sister Milly, and brothers Garnet and Clayton. Vic is survived by his wife Jean, children Anne (Rob), Allan (Lylea), Gerald (Cindy), Rae (Debbie), Greg (Carol), Tim, Noreen (Travis), Pat (Jacqueline), Lynda (Ray), 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother Lloyd, Don (Margaret), sister Pauline Althouse and special caregivers Deila Aznar and Marcelie Aleman.
