Obituary
Cecil Clanford Wutke passed away peacefully on February 10, 2018 in the Pleasantview Care Home, Wadena, Saskatchewan. Cecil Clanford Wutke was born to Carl and Augustine Wutke on November 24, 1925 in Moose Jaw, SK. Cecil was in school until his father passed away when he then took over the family farm. In 1954, he began buying grain in Meadow Lake, 12 years in Richard, 14 years in Bradwell, and finally settled in Wadena in 1976 and retired in 1988 as the area supervisor. Cecil married Lillian Nelson on June 5, 1950, Cecil and Lillian had 5 boys, and one daughter; Rennis, Brian, Kenneth, Elaine, Kevin, and Garry. Cecil enjoyed being part of the community. He was part of the Wadena Fire Department since 1978, doing the secretary treasurer job and being the authoritarian or as the boys at the hall would say, the “old fart” who knew everything. Cecil retired from the Fire Department in 2005. Cecil was always with Lil when she had a table at the local Farmer’s Market. His job was to make labels for all things sold and to carry stuff in and carry stuff back home. Cecil very much enjoyed having a garden with Lil. Camping and fishing was always a love from the time their children were young and well into their retirement. Cecil was also a faithful fan of the Wadena Wildcats and enjoyed the Drop Inn Center. As Grandparents, they travelled everywhere to support their children, and grandchildren across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Cecil loved to go hunting with his friends and always came back with a great number of stories. Cecil will be deeply missed by his children, Rennis (Cheryl) of Kelowna, B.C.; Elaine (Don) Miller of Princeton, B.C.; Kevin (Connie) of Tisdale, SK; Garry of Regina, SK; grandchildren: Sean, Jason (Shelly), Tyler, Carla, Darren (Nicole), Brett, Delee, Kira, Keisha, Jamie, Nicole (Nathan), Marissa, Carlie; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Ava, Camryn, Nate, Jackson, Nico, Preston, Hayley, and Jordynn; sister, Iris; as well as many extended family, and friends. Cecil is predeceased by his wife, Lillian; parents, Carl & Augustine; sons, Brian & Kenneth; siblings, Elsie, Ella, Gladys, Viola, Lillian, Freida, Bill, Wilbert, and Charlie.
