Obituary
Martin William Korolchuk, the youngest of three, was born to William and Annie Korolchuk on April 23, 1937. He passed away suddenly on March 31, 2015 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, Sk. Martin attended school at MacMahon School and then later moved to attend school in Wadena, SK. He began farming with his dad at a young age on the family farm by Clair, Sk. He later took a mechanics course in Winnipeg, MB. Martin worked the rigs in the winters and farmed for the rest of the seasons. On July 11, 1970, Martin married the love of his life, Sophie Kopanko. After marriage they moved to the family farm outside of Clair, Sk, where they would begin their life journey together. To this union three beautiful children were born: Michelle Ann, Bryan Martin, and Roxane Lynn. Martin had life figured out to the best, he treasured the three most important things in life: his farm, his work, and his family and friends. He worked hard taking pride in his farming, raising animals, and keeping his yard well looked after. Although work was important, his family and friends were just as important. Several family vacations were taken enjoying the sights of other provinces and countries. Added to this, was yearly family and friends winter skiing and camping trips which were thoroughly enjoyed. Martin also enjoyed fishing, curling, and card playing with family and friends. Married for 44 years, Martin and Sophie shared a wonderful life together rarely apart for anything. They enjoyed travelling, especially their trips to Australia to see their daughter, Michelle, and spend time with their grandchildren there. Martin would tell stories of those trips with all he learned and saw there. As a couple, they enjoyed trips visiting family and friends all over. After farming for over half a century they moved to Quill Lake, Sk, where they currently resided. After moving to town they took up golfing, enjoying the Quill Lake golf course as often as they could. Adding to his life's happiness, along came his grandchildren. They were the apple of his eye. Each and every one of the eight grandchildren held a special place in Gedo's heart. He could often be heard bragging about them. He loved spending time with them and enjoyed following them EVERYWHERE to watch their activities. Martin will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Sophie; children and grandchildren: Michelle (Tim) Sutton, Jamie and Dallas; Bryan (Nancy) Korolchuk, Riley, Rayanne, Kaiden, and Kylan; Roxane Wickstrom, Kyler and Kiana; mother-in-law, Stella Kopanko, sister Jean (Scotty) White; brother-in-law, Joe Andrea; and brother-in-law, John (Louise) Kopanko , as well as by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
