Olga Kizlyk was born on September 5th, 1920 to Steve and Sophie Dankow and passed on peacefully at the age of 92 on September 23rd 2012 in Kelvindell Lodge in Kelvington. Mom married Dad in June 1943 and together they built a home on a farm southwest of Fosston where they raised their family. Her legacy and joy was her 11 children, 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Our mother was one of the great ladies of her generation. She worked side by side with her husband to break the land and provide a home for their family. She worked tirelessly to ensure her family was fed, clothed and educated. It was the tough life of a pioneer but she always maintained a cheerfulness and positive attitude about her. One of Moms greatest pleasures was gardening and she took great pride in planting, growing and preserving enough food to feed her large family through the long winter months. She loved to try new recipes and passed on her cooking skills to her daughters and sons. Mom took great pleasure in all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that came to visit her. Mom always loved to play games and cards and many winter nights were spent putting together puzzles on the kitchen table. She continued to enjoy this hobby right up to the end. After Mom and Dad retired they moved to a house they built in Fosston where she lived until 2005. She then moved into a retirement lodge in Rose Valley and later transferred to Kelvindell Lodge in Kelvington in 2010. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Peter in 1982, two daughters, Katherine and Elizabeth and a son, Peter. She leaves behind to miss her greatly her children, Patricia (Walter), Darlene, Mike, Mervin, Elsie (Glen), Joe (Kim), Rose (John), Nickolena, Dian (Stan) and Steven (Sue), her sisters and brother; Sophie Schinkel, Ellis Dankow, Stella Yakimchuk, Helen Nykoluk, Doris Finnbogason and Verna Desanko.
