Obituary
Eva Mae Kathleen Pierce was born on the family homestead East of Naicam, SK on November 10, 1929. She was the 9th child, 5th daughter of Emilia (Richardson) Pierce and Albert Robert Pierce. She married Magnus Fyhn on October 27, 1948. They had 2 sons, Mark, and Grant- who passed away in 1996; one daughter, Hope, as well as 3 children who died in infancy. She lost her husband Magnus in 1994, after 46 years of marriage. The important things in Eva’s life were family, gardening, reading and travel, and she thoroughly enjoyed them all. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, and excellent cook who included many extra friends and family around her table, especially on holidays and birthdays. This would often go with a hot game of cards or a board game. She was a talented seamstress and quilter, and painted beautiful landscapes inspired by her travels, and local areas. Eva honed her green thumb skills working seasonally at the Naicam Greenhouse for many years. She was a very active member of the Lutheran Church Ladies’ group. Eva lived for over 50 years in her own home in Naicam, caring for a large vegetable and flower garden that looked like a park. She moved into Churchview Lodge “across the street” and enjoyed her friends and neighbors there. Although she endured many health issues through the years, she fought back steadfastly from each one. She moved to Parkland Place in Melfort, SK in 2015, and resided there until she passed in her sleep on September 1st, 2019. She leaves to mourn: one son MARK (Judith- sons Aeron and Anthony) grandson Troy Fyhn (Abigail) great- granddaughters Mileah and Janelle; one daughter HOPE Draude (Paul), granddaughter Gwen Draude (Cory), grandson Cole Draude (Jodie); daughter-in-law Lynn Fyhn, grandson Mikal Fyhn (Shelby), great grandson Briar, grandson Melvin McLellan (Sharon) great granddaughter Abigail granddaughter Nancy (Blake) Draga; one brother, Neil Pierce and family, and many nieces and nephews. Eva said to include, “thanks to the Draude family for embracing me as one of their own.”
